Fatality Close to Home

A 77-year-old Beaverton man was struck and killed by a car in a Memorial Day wreck in SW Portland. post

It appears that both the bicyclist and vehicle were headed eastbound on Multnomah when the crash occurred, said Portland police Sgt. Greg Stewart. post

Responding officers learned that the bicyclist had suffered fatal injuries in the crash and activated the Major Crash Team. post

Portland police arrested the 61-year-old driver, Willard E. Tow, on accusations of driving under the influence of intoxicants, first-degree manslaughter, second-degree manslaughter and reckless driving. Tow was booked into the Multnomah County Jail.
