Pingdom lost access to various services when Comcast changed the residential IP address serving sensor and wiki pages to the web.
Residential IP address change initiates a five hour outage followed by a twelve hour recovery.
Federated wiki assumes citizens have some obligation to serve others while they consume from the internet. This is not aligned with regional internet providers who have traditionally provided telephone or television service. But, just as internet users can send mail, we support users broadcasting content in an open style.
There is a technological issue having to do with inbound and outbound bandwidth of dsl and cable modems. Broadcasting of pirated movies may not be best use. But wiki with its intrinsic caching is not one of these bad boys.
