In one weekend we've started two new projects, one bundling client and server into a desktop app, the other extracting out the server's essence for a battery powered internet thing.
Electron Wiki for guided introductions. 40MB.
Embedis Plugin for the internet of things. 4KB.
These estimated code sizes show the amazing dynamic range of the technologies we have chosen. In one case it is javascript that composes so well in the chromium/node environment. In the other it is json, derived from javascript, that yields to c++ template metaprogramming to save every last byte.
What thrills me most is that these two projects complement each other as interoperable participants in the creative space that is ambient wiki.
Curiously, both projects are temporarily blocked on their first day by an inability to properly boot.
